Happy New Year, Sis!

Hey Sis,

Congratulations! You’ve made it to the beginning of the New Year. I don’t know about you, but I closed out the year with a strong reminder that God’s got me, nothing can pluck me out of His hands, He is faithfully keeping me, and nothing can thwart His promises concerning me. I am His! And guess what, so are YOU!

I have to admit, I spent the majority of 2023 trying to balance life as a working mom and wife, all while acknowledging the call of God upon my life. It is no easy task having completely dependent small humans coupled with a busy life. There were plenty of rough, frustrating and overwhelming moments as I found myself straining to balance each role. There was often this nagging feeling that I wasn’t doing enough, feeling as if I was failing in one aspect or the other- but God has proven faithful.

As we embark on a new year, know that I’m thinking of you and grateful you are here in the land of the living. Perhaps you’re thinking, I made it to a new year but I’m still struggling. I want you to know that how you crossed over is irrelevant. Regardless of the kind of year 2023 was for you; you crossed over. It’s not by chance but because God would have it that way as a result of His purpose, His goodness and His grace. Your current state does not determine the rest of your year.  Simply because you crossed over ‘lame’ doesn't mean your year will end that way. ‘For better is the end of a thing, than the beginning thereof (Ecclesiastes 7 vs 8).’ What truly matters is your daily intentional steps toward the newness you seek. 

In this new year, I wish above all things that your soul and spirit prosper. That the Holy Spirit brings you into the knowledge of your God-given identity, power and dominion. May you discover your fullest potential as you collide with the greatness that is within you. May you embark upon a journey that leaves your mind blown, one that takes your breath away. ARISE, and awaken the warrior within you. You are a spiritual giant, a force to be reckoned with. May your borders and cords be lengthened and extended. It is YOUR time.  Your time to break loose and free, your time to shine. You are marked with light and His glory is upon you.

I’m rooting for you, wanting you to win. But most importantly, I know heaven is rooting for you. You do not stand alone, heaven stands with you. And if that’s all you have, you have all that you need. 

I’m praying for you, as you are praying for me.

I thank God for you, Sister.
