What’s the Truth, Really?

Truth is something that’s been debated for ages—my truth versus yours, honesty versus lies. But when everyone believes they’re right, how can we truly know who’s correct?
For something to be considered truth, it has to be universal. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, who you’re talking to, or how much time has passed—the truth remains the same.
This is what God’s Word represents. Whether you believe in it or not, it’s a universal truth. Passed down through generations, its relevance and accuracy never waver.
Unfortunately, we often find ourselves caught between God’s truth about us and the lies from our environment, our pasts, or even our own beliefs.
The beauty of God’s truth is that it doesn’t change. It’s steadfast—whether we believe it or not, whether we live it out or not. But the key to making it come alive is aligning ourselves with what it says about us.
It’s not always easy to accept the good things He’s spoken over us, especially when what we know about ourselves doesn’t seem to add up. But can I tell you something? The real you is the one He sees—the one He created with promise and glory. He knows what He’s placed inside of you, He knows what you’re capable of, and He knows the fruit that’s waiting on the other side if only you’d surrender all that you are right now.
I get it—the outside noise (and even the inner voice) can be loud. But God is asking us to anchor our souls in His Word, so He can reveal the daughter He has created and sees. He sees you, and He knows you—because He’s the one who created you.
Here are a couple of biblical accounts where God’s truth seemed to clash with reality:
📖 Luke 8:52-55 (NLT)
"The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but He said, 'Stop weeping! She isn’t dead; she’s only sleeping.' The crowd laughed at Him because they all knew she had died. Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, 'My child, get up!' At that moment, her life returned, and she immediately stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat."
📖 Judges 6:11-16 (NLT)
"The angel of the Lord appeared to [Gideon] and said, 'The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.' Gideon replied, 'Please, my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened? Where are all His wonders?' ... The Lord turned to him and said, 'Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the grasp of Midian. I am sending you!' Gideon responded, 'Please, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? My family is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s family.' 'But I will be with you,' the Lord said to him. 'You will strike down the Midianites as if they were one man.'”
'You will strike down the Midianites as if they were one man.'"
In these accounts, we see people struggling to agree with what God was saying because it didn’t align with what they were seeing in the natural world (I hope you caught that). The truth God spoke didn’t match their reality. And the truth is, a lot of breakthroughs are missed or go unclaimed because we can’t see what He sees.
Do you see it? Both Jairus’ daughter and Gideon were caught in a reality that didn’t align with what God was speaking. The truth God declared did not match what they saw with their natural eyes.
And if we’re honest, this is where many breakthroughs are lost—because we refuse to believe what He says over what we see.
So here’s the question:
➡️ Will you trust Him even when His truth doesn’t match your reality?
➡️ Will you take His hand and step into the vision He has for you?
➡️ Will you believe that His Word is greater than your past, your pain, or your present situation?
To get there, we have to anchor ourselves in His truth and live it out. That’s where transformation happens. That’s where we become who He’s always seen us to be.
